It's been a year!

Well everyone... I've had my first anniversary (November 17, 2008) and I couldn't be happier. When I went for my check-up my doctor said I weigh 40 pounds. My mom asked him if I was too heavy and he said nope, I look just fine.
The last year has been very exciting. My parents bought a house, I now have a very big back yard all to myself, all fenced in... I LOVE it.
I still go to work everyday and everyone still loves me... I did decide to bark at one particular mailman, but hey, he makes faces at me and I don't like it... But other than that, the clients that come into the office think I'm a nice touch.
Well, just wanted to give you a quick update. I didn't write much in the last year, but just know I am doing fantastic! Have a great holiday!!

It's a new year

Well everybody. I have now officially been with my family for over two months and I have adjusted very very well. I still go to work every day with my "mom." Every one at the office loves me and they all take turns deciding who is going to give me treats. I can only have a few each day (Mom says I've put on a few pounds since coming to live with them). Anyway, it is very very cold here in Maine lately, but luckily since I've been here, my coat has grown in thicker. My mom has put a picture in, but I am not very fond of getting my picture taken. Something about that thing pointing at me makes me fussy. Well, that's all for now. I'll chat with all of you later! Oh, before I forget, I heard some of my pals are stuck in New Hampshire and need a home. Check them out! http://www.homewardboundofms.com/

Oh my gosh... SANTA

Well, last night I met Santa... he is sitting in my parent's living room under something called the Christmas tree. In Maine we have real trees... I am a little bit scared of the tree, but my mother says it won't bite. I keep sniffing it because quite honestly it smells pretty good! I am also very very curious what that stuff is inside those packages with the pretty paper.. I am getting a stern look when I try to open these things called "presents" early. Oh well.. What's a dog to do?
Last night we also got another 4 inches of that powdery stuff called snow. Considering I'm only about 16 inches off the ground, you can well imaging that the 13 inches of snow we got in the last week is not making me feel too excited. Also, last night when we were shoveling the snow I had icicles hanging from the little tufts of hair on my elbows...Before you know it, my mom and dad will have to paint the tip of my tail bright orange so they will be able to find me ~I understand that in Maine this is pretty typical in Maine. Even though I like to play in it, this might be my least favorite part about Maine... BUT I'll get over it...

Moxie in Maine Homeward Bound

Hi all-
My name is Moxie. I came to Maine on the November 2007 trip. My family loves me so much. I am adjusting so well. Everyday I go to work with my "mom." Everyone at the office is so happy to have me there. I adjusted very well. I act just the way the folks at Homeward Bound said I would. I am completely house broken, I don't bark, I am a very good listener, my heartworms are all better... My family is so happy. My mom says that I have great manners and I am a "poster child" for Homeward bound...My parents say if they had the room they would take someone else just like me. I did take a liking to my mom's slipper though, but she wasn't too mad... That is the only thing I did that was sort of naughty.. She said that was okay though, they were old and she didn't really wear them anyway. Now, she just let me keep it... I really like that slipper- My Dad loves to see me at the end of the day... He gives me gravy on my dinner every night as a treat..(I love the Pepperidge Farm Turkey gravy best (I would use exclamation points but the blog doesn't like that character) I am so happy. My human brother "Ben" takes really good care of me too. Every morning he gets up and takes me outside. Then we take him to the bus stop and I get to play with his friends.. It is a really good start to my day. I like my sister, the kitty named Sally. I like to lick her a lot in the morning and she tolerates me pretty good.. but when she had enough, she makes no secret of letting me know...

(From the parents) Thank you to Homeward, Dr. Sutton and all the crew. I want to especially thank Amy White, Moxie's (then Roxy) foster mom. We love Moxie dearly and she is a huge part of our family. It's as if we always had her... I can't image being without her...
Moxie saw her first snow fall 2 weeks ago and she adjusted well. We got 8 inches the first snow. She wasn't thrilled at first but now, we can't keep her out of it. Here is a picture of Moxie from her first snow. We are thrilled to have her...We love her so much. Happy Holidays to all and if you are ever fortunate enough to become part of the Homeward Bound Family, welcome to a wonderful experience-
